The travel expenses of the selected participants will be met by the organizers. For this they should in a state government regulated transport service (like KSRTC) or 2nd/sleeper class train. The money spent on the travel will be reimbursed before the last day of the workshop. If they use anyother mode of transport, only the fare required for travelling in govt. regulated transport services would be reimbursed, not the actual fare (if the actual fare is more than the govt. fare)


Accommodation will be provided to participants coming from a distance of more than 30KMs from the venue. They also will be provided hospitality. The accommodation and hospitality expenses will be met by the organizers during the period 28th April 2013 night to 12th May 2012 morning. If they would like to stay for more days after this period, it will be at their own expenses, that too subject to the availability of rooms.


Accommodation for boys is arranged at Karmasadan Pastoral Centre, Near Leo XIIIth School and Civil Station, Alappuzha. It is in the Alappuzha Town center near to St. Joseph College for Women at a distance of around 4KMs from the venue and is connected to the venue via regular, frequent public transport bus services.
Accommodation for girls is arranged at SD College Women’s hostel, Sanatanapuram, Alappuzha which is at a walkable distance from the Programme venue.


Participants are supposed to reach their staying places by 6pm, and there will be a movement register maintained in their staying place. Whenever they go out of their hostel, they have write it down in the movement register.


The participants are expected to obey the rules and regulations of the hostel, and they are expected to behave in a manner suitable to the academic nature of the programme they are attending. If a student violates any of these conditions, he/she will not be allowed to participate in the programme for the remaining duration, and they may have to face strict disciplinary actions.


How to reach the venue

By Train

Alappuzha easily accessible by train/bus services. The railway station Alappuzha (Alleppey - Railway code ALLP) is in the middle of Thiruvananthapuram-Kollam-Alappuzha-Ernakulam Rail route. All the trains to/from Thiruvananthapuram via Alappuzha do stop here. So accessing Alappuzha is very easy. After getting down, you may have to catch another local bus to reach the venue which is at a distance of around 4 KMs from the railway station. If you catch an autorikshaw to reach the venue from the Alappuzha Railway station, you may have to pay around Rs. 80-90.

By Bus

If you want to use bus service, almost all kinds of buses (including Fast Passenger/Super-Fast Buses of the KSRTC) passing through the National Highway 47 (NH47) stops in front of the venue. Alappuzha Bus Station is at a distance of around 4KMs from the college. SD College is on the national highway NH 47 linking Thiruvananthapuram-Kollam-Alappuzha-Ernakulam.

How to reach the hostel

Accommodation for girls is arranged at the college hostel for women close to the SD College campus. The hostel is behind the college, and so after reaching the venue, you may have to walk another 200-300 meters to reach the hostel.

Accommodation for boys is arranged at Karmasadan Pastoral Center. It is near to the Leo XIIth High school and civil station, Alappuzha. From the bus stand/railway station, it is at a distance of around 3 KMS. From the venue, it is at a distance of around 4KMs. Once you reach Alappuzha Railway station/bus station, you should ask for Shavakkottappalam/Civil Station and then move to convent square, and then to the Seminari Gate for reaching inside the Pastoral centre premises. (Other landmarks: Federal Bank ATM, South Indian Bank ATM, St.Joseph’s College for Women, Leo XIIIth High School, Ravi Karunakaran Museum, Savakkottappalam, Civil Station Alappuzha)
