Instructions for the selected/waitlisted

  • The selection list is arranged in the alphabetical order of their studying institute, not in the order of merit, or any other priority.
  • Candidates who are selected, but not willing to participate now in the workshop, are requested to kindly inform us about it at the earliest, so that a candidate in the waiting list may get a chance to participate in the programme.
  • Students are requested to download the undertaking form from this link which they should fill, sign it, get the signature of the guardian and bring it with them to the programm venue.
  • Selected students should receive our selected letter by post in their corresponding address by 20th April 2013. If such a student did not receive any letter from us by this date, he/she should contact the programme co-ordinator.
  • Students who are not availing accommodation from the organizers will not be provided breakfast, or dinner. However, they will be provided morning/Afternoon tea, and lunch.

    Few more instructions for the selected students

  • You should reach the venue on 28th afternoon/evening (before 5PM) in case you are availing our accommodation facilities. Otherwise, you should reach the venue on the opening day by 8:30 AM.
  • Accommodation for boys is arranged at Karmasadan Pastoral Centre, Near Leo XIIIth School and Civil Station, Alappuzha. It is in the Alappuzha Town center near to St. Joseph College for Women at a distance of around 4KMs from the venue and is connected to the venue via regular, frequent public transport bus services. Accommodation for girls is arranged at SD College Women’s hostel, Sanatanapuram, Alappuzha which is at a walkable distance from the Programme venue.
  • The students staying in the hostels are supposed to strictly comply with the rules and regulations of the college, workshop as well as the hostel. Some of the important rules are
    1. Smocking/consuming alcohol/ use any other tobacco/narcotic products are completely banned inside the venue/hostel.
    2. They should not create any disturbance to the normal life of the other hostel mates.
    3. Students will not be allowed to leave or enter the hostel premises after 9PM/ before 6 AM.
    4. Students should not leave the hostel except for attending the workshop. If they want to go out for some other emergency work, they should get prior permission of the programme co-ordinator/hostel warden.

  • Accommodation will be provided only to those students at a distance of more than 30 KMs from the venue. Requests from others will be considered only subject to the number of rooms available in the hostel.
  • Students are advised not to carry any valuables/money with them. They should better carry an ATM card linked to their bank accounts. There are ATM counters near to the venue for drawing money if needed using their cards.
  • Only the students from south Indian states will be reimbursed their TA. Other cases will be considered only subject to the availability of sufficient funds. Students should carry their bus/train tickets with them and hand it over to the organizers for claiming TA. Without these tickets, TA will not be reimbursed. TA will be reimbursed only for their journeys in public transport systems via shortest routes.
  • Every day, breakfast will be provided during 7:30 to 8:45 in the morning at the venue. Classes will start at 9 AM and will end by 4:45 PM. Lunch also will be provided at the venue. Dinner will be provided (only) to the hostellers at their respective hostels.
  • Please see the programme schedule given in the website for the details on classes and resource persons.
  • Only Kerala style vegetarian food will be provided. In the afternoon meals will be provided with Kerala dishes. In the night, meals/chappathi/poori etc will be provided with sufficient dishes. Alappuzha town center which is at a distance of around 4KMs from the venue has reasonably good hotels if you would like to have something else, at your own cost. But remember once again, that you will not be allowed to enter the hostel after 9PM.
  • Drinking water will be provided at the venue to all the participants. Participants are advised to bring their own bottles in which they can fill this water and take to their staying places.
  • Alappuzha has several good hospitals in case of any emergency. The organizers will take care of the participants in case of an emergency. However, students known to have acute medical problems should not attend the workshop.
  • Alappuzha is a place on the national high way NH47 and has not been reported for any violent incidents in the past.
  • Students will be accompanied from/to the hostel/hotel in the morning/evening by a teacher/representative of the organizing committee.
  • Students should bring with them all their necessary accessories required to stay for two weeks. Especially they are advised to bring their own bed sheets, mosquito mats.
  • Students can carry their mobiles, but they should keep it in switched off mode during the classes.
  • Students should provide their mobile numbers at the registration counter on 29th April at the venue. They should also bring the signed undertaking form and hand it over to the registration counter.

  • Guardians cannot be provided accommodation even if they are coming together with the students. However, at their cost, we would try our best to find hotels nearby where they can stay.
